Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital

Trauma Center Emergency Room

1001 Potrero Ave,

San Francisco, CA 94110

Dear Sir or Madam:

My name is Glendy Perez and I am writing this letter to give suggestions for The San Francisco General Hospital Emergency Department. I am a 2nd year college student at San Francisco State University, majoring in Interior Design. I am doing a research paper on Muscular Dystrophy and the treatments that are currently available.

I am writing to let you know that I want to see a change in terms of how to discover diseases while in the emergency room. I believe that there are a lot of patients waiting to be seen. It would be faster to get a lot of disease kits and test them for it as a precaution. It would definitely save a ton of waiting time. These patients demand to get attended. I am rooting for a change in this. Patients to be treated fairly. This disease Muscular dystrophy should be tested while in the emergency room. A lot of patients have these symptoms and find out years later than sooner. It would be a big huge help to get these testing kits out there.

Muscular dystrophy is hard to discover as it requires a lot of symptoms that the patient must have in order to be tested for it. There need to be signs of it. First sign is muscle weakness in arms and legs. A notice in how they walk, mainly on the tiptoe of the foot. A lot more fatigue when doing regular everyday activities. These are signs to look for.

These are my suggestions to help improve the General Emergency Department. I hope this advice would help more patients in this condition. Thank you so much for your time and concern.

Sincerely,

Glendy Perez
